Circular Head coastal habitats - sea level rise vulnerability assessment

An investigation has been conducted into the implications of climate change induced sea level rise - including effects of tiday and wave processes - on the shallow coastal and estuarine habitats of Robbins Passage / Boullanger Bay. The project provides a basis for exploring future scenarios for the environmental, economic and social values related to the area, and ultimately for their improved management.

Managing Rice Grass and Sea Spurge

The Robbins Passage - Boullanger Bay wetlands in the Circular Head municipality cover approximately 28,000 hectares including tidal mudflats, beaches, estuaries, sand flats, salt marshes and rocky islands. Migratory birds depend on the area for food and shelter, as do many resident species of shorebirds. To protect and enhance the wetlands, a project was undertaken with the North West Environment Centre to coordinate sea spurge and rice grass weed mapping and management planning.
